LOS ANGELES -- USC women's volleyball assistant head coach Todd Dagenais was named head coach at Central Florida last week after three seasons with the Trojans.

Dagenais becomes the ninth head coach in UCF history since the program's inception in 1975. An immediate search has begun with a replacement expected to be announced later this month.

USC completed the 2007 season with a 29-5 record, reaching its fourth NCAA Final Four in the past six years. The Trojans finished third in the final AVCA poll and added two more All-Americans to their lengthy history with senior Asia Kaczor and sophomore Taylor Carico.

Adding to his coaching accomplishments in 2007, Dagenais was the head coach for the USA White Select National Team that won the silver medal at the High Performance Championships.

Prior to his appointment at USC, Dagenais spent one season with USA Volleyball and five seasons at Michigan State as the Associate Head Volleyball Coach from 1999-2004. Michigan State competed in the NCAA Tournament all five seasons during Dagenais' tenure.

Dagenais was also an assistant coach at Northern Michigan in 1998, serving as the recruiting and travel coordinator for the Wildcats which competed in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Dagenais received his bachelor's degree in sports medicine (with an emphasis in exercise physiology) from Central Michigan in 1995. He played on the Chippewas' men's club team for four years and was also a certified athletic trainer.
