THIS SEASON
The Australian guard was a quick fit in the USC lineup last season and now enters her junior year at Troy as a well-rounded scoring threat and defensive specialist for the Women of Troy.
2007-08 SOPHOMORE SEASON
In her first year at USC, Oliver hit double figures in 11 games and was second on the team in shooting percentage (.466) and free-throw percentage (.759)...Hit 28 three-pointers and averaged the No. 3 scoring mark on the team with 7.8 ppg... After coming off the bench for the first seven games, started the next 22... Earned All-Pac-10 Defensive Honorable Mention... Averaged 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, playing a team-high 25.7 minutes per game... Set new career highs with 21 points and three 3-pointers against Washington State on Feb. 10, and hada a career-high eight rebounds against UCLA on March 8... Ranked No. 10 in the Pac-10 for shooting percentage... Named Women of Troy Classic MVP with 21 points and 12 rebounds in two games.
NATIONAL TEAMS
Oliver is a member of the Australian Under-21 National Team... Recently won silver with the Sapphires at the 2007 FIBA Under-21 World Championships in Russia.
AT CENTRAL ARIZONA
Oliver was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Freshman of the Year after one season at Central Arizona College... One of two freshmen to earn NJCCA First Team honors in 2007... Named to NJCCA Championship All-Tournament Team... Honored as Arizona Community College Athletic Commission 2007 Rookie of the Year following Central Arizona's 33-3 season that saw the Vaqueras reached the national title game... Averaged 18 points, 4 assists and 3 steals per game, shooting 55 percent from the floor and 42 percent from 3-point range.
HIGH SCHOOL
Oliver attended Wangaratta High in Victoria, Australia and played competitive basketball with Bulleen Bombers in the Victoria Junior Basketball League, reaching the finals twice... Also played with Hustlers Basketball Club in domestic competition, winning three straight Grand Finals and named MVP of each... Later played with Nunawading Spectres and in the South East Australian Basketball League... Named Sportsperson of the Year at her high school 2000-2005... Received Michelle Timms Rising Star Award in 2005 while playing with Bulleen... In 2004, was selected as one of 20 players to join the 2005 Australian Junior Basketball Camp... Scored 36 points in 20 minutes during a national championship game.
PERSONAL
Heather Helen Oliver was born Sept. 2, 1987 in Adelaide, South Australia... The daughter of Barry and Robyn, she has two brothers, Blair and Scott... Enjoys being with family and friends, shopping, watching movies and eating... Lists Lance Armstrong as her biggest sports hero... Most thrilling sports moment was watching Australia win gold at the women's basketball World Championships... Has always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon... Has not decided on a major but would like to pursue a job in sports.
