THIS SEASON:
Tennille Grant returns for her junior season with the Women of Troy... The most improved player last season who consistently displayed her uncanny scoring ability... She can also defend and run the floor... Looking to break through this season and make an impact on the court.

IN 2000-01:
Grant played in 25 games as a sophomore and averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per outing (up from 1.6 and 1.2 the previous year... She led the team with a 46.6 shooting percentage in 2001... For her drastic improvement, Grant was honored as the team's `Most Improved Player'... Set a career-high with 10 points, seven rebounds and a 71.4 percent shooting effort (5-7) against St. Joseph's (Nov. 26)... Added another career-best seven boards against Sacramento State (Dec. 9)... Collected nine points just in the first half after going 4-for-6 from the field against Washington State (Jan. 4)... Added 10 points against Arizona (Jan. 18) and surpassed career-highs in free throws made (6), free throws attempted (6) and free throw percentage (100.0).

IN 1999-00:
Mainly a reserve player, Grant played in 22 games as a freshman... Averaged 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game... Was 2-of-2 from the field against San Diego State (Dec. 4)... Hit 2-of-3 from the field and 2-of-2 at the line for a season-high six points and five rebounds against Sacramento State (Dec. 11)... Hit 2-of-2 from the field against Arizona State (Jan. 20).

IN HIGH SCHOOL:
Grant was a 1999 graduate of Northeast Military Magnet in Kansas City, Mo. ... She was honored as a Nike Midwest All-American honorable mention pick as a senior, and earned all-state first team honors in 1998 and second team honors in 1999... An All-Metro League first team selection in 1998, an all-district first teamer in 1997 and 1998 and a second team selection in 1996 and 1999... In the Interscholastic League, she was the leading scorer for three seasons and the leading rebounder for two seasons... Named the Interscholastic League MVP her junior and senior seasons... In her prep four-year career, she collected 1,975 points.

Tennille Grant was born on July 23, 1981, in Kansas City, Mo. ... The daughter of Gary Grant and Tina Elbert, she has three sisters, Whitney, Dhmir and Garis... She was Northeast High's Valedictorian and was chosen as one of Who's Who Among America's Youth in 1999... In 1998, she served as the National Honor Society president... She is a fine arts major at USC with an emphasis on entrepreneurship... Following graduation, she hopes to work in the entertainment industry.
